Welcome to version 3 (v3) of The Movie Database(TMDB)API. This documentation serves as a guide to kick- start your experience with the world’s largest movie database, Operating under the REST architecture. this API has become familiar to developers over the years, owing to its resemblance to the well-known web request and response pattern and its utillization of JSON as the preferred syntax for delivering responses. Here, you’ll find information on all your favorite movies, including ratings, release dates, and much more. Before you can use the TMBD API, you need to generate your API Key - which is how you authenticate with the API. To get an API key, you need to sign up at the officlal TMDB homepage. To do sign up, follow the steps below- Navigate to the TMBD sign up page.
- After submitting your requested details, verify your account to login.
- At the right corner of your profile page, navigate to your profile avatar and select the Settings options.
- On the settings page, navigate to the API option at the left corner menu.
- From the options provided, chose the plan that suits you, The options include Developer and Professional. Both plans have their advantages listed below them.
- Once you select a plan, you’ll fill out the form which would collect information about the API usage. information requested would include name of applicaton, it’s url, etc.
