# Translations

> This endpoint is used to get the translations that belong to a person.

However, before you begin, be sure to explore the introductory pages, which include the Authentication page and the Errors & status code page.\_\n\n# Authentication \n\nBefore you can use the TMBD API, you need to generate your API Key - which is how you authenticate with the API.\nTo get an API key, you need to sign up at the officlal TMDB homepage. To do sign up, follow the steps below\_\n\n1. Navigate to the TMBD sign up page.\n\n2. After submitting your requested details, verify your account to  login.\n3. Once you are logged in, you can now access your profile page containing information such as your most watched genres, and other recent activities.\n4. At the right corner of your profile page, navigate to your profile  avatar and select the Settings options.\n5. On the settings page, navigate to the API option at the left corner menu.\n6. From the following options, chose the plan that suits you, The options include Developer and Professional. Both plans have their advantages listed below them.\n7.\_Once you select a plan, you'll fill out the form which would collect information about the API usage. information requested would include name of applicaton, it's url, etc.\n8. Once completed, you would be redirected to a new page where you'll  see your generated API Key, Or check the notification icon for an instant message delivering your API key with additional informatian on the next steps to take."
